Halloween Evangelism

First we laid out all the "stuff"

These are the Gospel tracts that will go into the goodie bags

That's a LOT OF BAGS to stuff!

Thanks for the help Gordon!

... and thank you Skyler!

The kids did a great job decorating the bags.

We handed out all 60 bags and gave out a lot of loose candy and gospel tracts. That's a lot of seeds sown! To God alone be the glory!

Are Gospel Tracts A Valid Form Of Evangelism?

Read the following quotes from the prince of preachers, Charles Spurgeon:

"I well remember distributing them in a town in England where tracts had never been distributed before, and going from house to house, and telling in humble language the things of the kingdom of God. I might have done nothing, if I had not been encouraged by finding myself able to do something ... [Tracts are] adapted to those persons who have but little power and little ability, but nevertheless, wish to do something for Christ. They have not the tongue of the eloquent, but they may have the hand of the diligent. They cannot stand and preach, but they can stand and distribute here and there these silent preachers ... They may buy their thousand tracts, and these they can distribute broadcast."

"I look upon the giving away of a religious tract as only the first step for action not to be compared with many another deed done for Christ; but were it not for the first step we might never reach to the second, but that first attained, we are encouraged to take another, and so at the last ... There is a real service of Christ in the distribution of the gospel in its printed form, a service the result of which heaven alone shall disclose, and the judgment day alone discover. How many thousands have been carried to heaven instrumentally upon the wings of these tracts, none can tell ..."

"Let each one of us, if we have done nothing for Christ, begin to do something now. The distribution of tracts is the first thing."

Evangelism Resources

Here are a few evangelism resources:

  • Hell's Best Kept Secret A life-changing message from Ray Comfort that you need to listen to!

  • True And False Conversion Another foundational message from Ray Comfort that you need to listen to!

  • This is Ray Comfort's ministry and is a great place to buy tracts as well as evangelism books. Be sure to check out their "million dollar bill" tracts. This is one of my favorite gospel tracts and is easy to give out.

  • Another great place to buy tracts

  • The Wretched Radio program is a great encouragement for the budding evangelist. You can listen to the program online. I highly recommend this show!

  • Mark Cahill is an evangelist who is ON FIRE for the Lord and whose ministry is spreading that fire to other believers. Go to his website and listen to his podcasts and you will be blessed. He has two books - one is intended for believers and one is an evangelistic book you can give to unbelievers. Both books are great resources.

  • Alway Be Ready is the apologetics ministry of Charlie Campbell. His books and DVD's are great resources to equip you to tackle some of the tough questions unbelievers ask. Here's a great article on how to start up conversations.

  • This is another ministry of Ray Comfort. They offer an evangelism "boot camp" where you are trained by their team, then get to go out with them to hit the streets together. I have not attended this training yet but plan to do so in the near future.

  • The Good Question Survey This is a survey that you can use when witnessing in malls, parks, festivals, beaches, and anywhere else you would seek to engage others in conversation.

  • Look up the municipal codes for your area

  • Is the Way Of The Master the only way to share the gospel? Check out Mark Sohmer's answer to that question.

  • Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry

  • Mormon Research Ministry

Also be sure to check out the blogs on the sidebar of this website. These are the blogs of some bold evangelists who share their evangelism tales and knowledge so that others can be encouraged to share their faith.
